  • Bethlehem Walk: 2045 W. Ball Rd. Anaheim at Anaheim Methodist Church. Real life depiction of Christmas story with animals, food, characters. Low key and great for 2-3yrs and older. Call for dates and times. 714-772-6030.
  • Disneyland Dancing Waters Show: Exciting light, music and water show lasting about 20 minutes. During summer, fireworks can be viewed after the show from a clear glass elevator nearby. Ride monorail around park ($2.50/adults; under 3yrs - free ). 3 hours free parking with $5.00 purchase. Park behind main hotel.
  • Hobby City: 1234 S. Beach Blvd., Anaheim. Model train rides, doll and toy museum, aquarium, shops for picnic food. Lots of open space to play. Daily 10-6.
  • Yorba Regional Park: 7600 E. La Palma, Anaheim. Imperial Woods Trail along the Santa Ana River. Less crowded midday. Parking $2/car. Call 714-834-2400.
  • Character Boat Parade: Newport Beach Harbor. Boats decorated and crews in costume held 3rd Sunday in August at 2:00 PM. Best viewing is at Pavilion on Balboa Island at Ferry Landing . Free. 714-644-8281.

  • Corona Del Mar Beach State Park: Marguerite Ave. off PCH. convenient easy- access beach. Watch seals, boats, people, picnic. Parking fees.
  • Little Corona Del Mar Tidepools: Poppy and Ocean Blvd., off PCH. Path down hill at this junction. Best during low tide. Wear thongs or old shoes. Pack a lunch.
  • Sherman Library and Gardens: 2647 E. Coast Highway. Corona Del Mar. Botanical gardens, fountains, waterfall, touch & smell garden, greenhouse, sculpture, koi pond. Light lunches served. Adults $2/children free. Call 949-673-2261.
